The following flyer is an example of a program designed to aid families to find each other and create communities and networking in their areas.  Please contact us if you would like to have us speak at your group.

Some ideas for those families starting from “scratch” in a conservative community:

  • it might be easiest to arrange a first gathering at one of your more open churches - even if you aren’t connected with them, if they have a decent community hall, they will rent it out. The only problem there is that one family is fronting the initial money.
  • Another possibility is to rent one of the meeting rooms in your local library, especially one that has a good children’s section it so they might feel at home there (except that kids really seem to be become more comfortable if they can play out of doors if it can be arranged.)
  • You can also try to simply have a gathering at a local park/playground, and see if people turn up. Parks are definitely great for once you have a group who knows each other already.

For more open communities, to find your intuitive family community within it:

  • check out any independent bookstore that might have a meeting space, they will love to have you, and you can hand them a list of book suggestions for them to have on hand.
  • If you are in a large enough area to have a health food store with a reading room or something - that might work...
  • again, from our experience, the kids need to feel totally safe to start opening up; otherwise they will act outwardly the very same as they do at their schools... i.e. the place shouldn’t be crawling with other people, or too noisy etc.

Once you have even one meeting, a sense of community will be born and playdates arranged... even if the kids never mention the reason for the new play group, they will find friendship by osmosis, and the parents can be the arbiters, as usual, of making the “official” family of friends connections.

VERY IMPORTANT:  NO pressure. The kids should feel free to interact naturally. It’s the moms/dads who are getting to know one another and dialogue about Psi things. On the other hand, go with the flow, if you, the initiator realize that who showed up are mostly all of the gregarious sort, then you can pull out the Psi games stuff.  L.E.M. and I have a few examples to share if you would like.

Just know that the other parents who respond to your gathering, are going to be soooo grateful that someone took the initiative. Honest, you are not going to be hounded out of town... you never know how many families have been waiting quietly for someone to break the ice.

THEN, after a time, if you all want to develop a dialogue with the kids on the purpose of getting together, the sense of safety in numbers will have been established. We can come present a Playshop, or suggest a local person, or you can create one for yourselves.

Happy to share lots of ideas.  Let us know how we can be of service.
